Drawn From The Nile; A Spiritual Travelogue

In June of 2006 my wife Dina & I took a trip down the Nile. Almost a year later, Dina had this idea to compile the pictures she took into a slide show to present to the youth group that we moderate. She thought it would be a good way to stimulate dialogue about Passover.

After some discussion, we realized that this was a project she and I could collaborate on. Dina wrote a beautiful script to accompany the images and I recorded her reading it. We sequenced the pictures together and I edited the whole thing. We hope you enjoy viewing this podcast as much as we enjoyed producing it.

YWCA Winter Show

The White Plains YWCA asked me to come in and do a show for their winter campers. It was a One Man Band show along with stories about snow and sledding. The kids seemed really mystified by the one man band and how I was able to play all the instruments at the same time. They didn’t buy my explanation that I’m an incredibly talented musician. In fact, one of the kids accused me of cheating. “Look- you can see he’s using his feet!”

Anyway, a good time was had by all and I walked out a little more humble.

Van Cortlandt Manor- Lord of Misrule!

Every year Van Cortlandt Manor in Croton, NY has holiday candlelight tours. People usually refer to these as “Christmas” tours- but people in America 200 years ago didn’t celebrate christmas. They celebrated “Twelfthnight”, which centers around the feast of the Three Kings and was a raucous, wild holiday that lasted for weeks.
Here’s our version...
